Hi all, it’s been a while. Firstly, plywood! We absolutely love it and are super excited to share this build that has been a dream in the pipeline for one of our beautiful clients.
We have recently completed this gorgeous plywood holiday house near Streaky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. The team have been busy travelling from Port Lincoln to work in the heat, wind, rain and even sunny weather conditions at Fisherman’s Paradise. We’ve certainly experienced a range of seasons during this building project. On some days, I’m sure looking out at that ocean was incredibly tempting to ditch work. This breathtaking coast has magnificent views, some of the best surf coupled with the most amazing sunrises and sunsets.
What do we love about this Streaky Bay holiday house? It oozes the character of the owners. It’s eco, raw, earthy, natural, industrial, stylish, homely and yet beachy all rolled into one.
Westall Shack incorporates a mixture of recycled and new materials with custom built joinery. The exterior materials are set to weather naturally, so the upkeep is minimal.
There are black features, such as tapware, throughout the house which contrast and enhance this plywood home perfectly.
The overall earthy colour palette draws rich tones and textures from nature. This really is a home that complements the environment.
To create this gorgeous unique house, the owners worked with Port Lincoln architect Damien McQuillan and we had the pleasure of working with some great local businesses and trades from both Streaky Bay and Port Lincoln.
We can definitely imagine cruisey relaxing beach days here and can’t wait to see this shack fully furnished. And, again, we absolutely love the plywood! If you need more building inspiration, head to our building project photo albums.
